The Convenient Applied Performance System (CAPS) Behavioral Profile is designed for business applications where a tool is needed to reinforce positive behavior, help employees overcome communication challenges, and develop strong team relationships.

With this behavioral profile you will explore the ways people process information and produce results. You will uncover the reasons some people drive you crazy and why you are drawn to other people. With this easy profile you can gain understanding of how and why people take actions.

This short course will impact your relationships with your customers, staff, peers, family and most importantly yourself. Understanding the natural pitfalls that each profile leans toward will assist you in producing your results. This simple test gives you an easy way to put yourself in the customers’ shoes and understand why people ask the questions they ask.

The CAPS Profile is not fully utilized if the trainer or manager doesn’t review it with the employee and discuss its’ application to the employee’s job. Point out the strengths and the pitfalls and check with the employee to determine his/her opinion. When you notice the employee’s strengths in daily work, acknowledge the person and the CAPS Profile. Then when things don’t go as smoothly, refer back to the CAPS Profile again, reminding the employee these are his/her tendencies.
The CAPS Behavioral Profile
· It is convenient. Not only is it quick and easy to score, the profiles are easy to reference and apply in daily conversations.

· Managers report great success in improving quality and production by discussing the CAPS with the employees. It’s much easier to address weaknesses when it’s a part of the profile rather than a finger pointed at a person.

· The system can be a confidence builder. The CAPS offers acknowledgment for the employee’s strengths. It draws the attention to what they have as natural, inherent strengths.

· The CAPS Profile is excellent for preparing employees for the challenges their jobs might hold. Whenever an employee deals with a customer, there are always challenges in communicating effectively and overcoming concerns. The CAPS can help employees understand why a customer might have those concerns or be so difficult. It also gives the trainer an opportunity to address problems an employee might have before they are interacting with the customer. The trainer can alert the employees to the challenges in advance.

· This profile can give managers ideas about how to correct problems with employees. It provides the manager with insights into how the employee thinks and what behavior actually interferes with the employee’s success.

· As a hiring tool, the manager can determine what profile will be most effective in what job and what pitfalls might occur with certain profiles.

· The CAPS can also assist in employee relationships. When everyone can understand the behaviors/personalities of their peers and managers, they are better able to accept them. Teams can be built and strengthened when the team members are aware of each individual’s strengths.
